Wortham Primary School

Activities and Events

This year the children have had lots of activities and events inside and outside of school.

Every week the children in Bumblebee Class (Reception and Year 1) go on a Wellie Walk. They walk around the village and take part in activities related to what they are learning in school.

At Christmas, we have a fantastic Christmas lunch and the children enjoy, crackers, carols and jokes along with their turkey! We go to the panto every year at the Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich, to see the rock and roll panto. We also have a Share Day, where parents, carers, and other family members come along to school to make craft activities with the children.

In the Autumn Term, Year 6 children go to Hilltop. They take part in lots of outdoor activities with children from the Hartismere pyramid. This is a great opportunity for the children to meet and make friends from other schools, who will be in their year at Hartismere High School.

In Spring term, we had lots of visitors in school! We had experts on the Vikings and Mayans come into school. We had Science Week, where we conducted lots of experiments and 'Hands on Science' visited us to show us how to take and use fingerprints, how fireworks are made and we even had a go with rockets!

In the Summer Term, children in Key Stage 2 went to Warner Bros. Studios to see how the Harry Potter films were made. They all had a fantastic time seeing all the tricks they use to create the magic!

The children in Key Stage 1 went to the theatre to see The Gruffalo in Bury St Edmunds. The children loved see the characters from the book come alive!
