Please explore the following sections highlighting the sports and physical activities in our school as well as useful web links for an active lifestyle for you, your child and your family.
1- Our Sports and Healthy Living Ethos
To inspire all our young people to enjoy and learn P.E. at Wortham Primary School as well as have opportunities to take part in physical activities and appropriate competitive school sport.
2- School Games Participation
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2021/22 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of PE and School Sport across the school and into the community.
The award is nationally recognised as the kite mark for school sport, and to attain Gold level is a major achievement. Our school has demonstrated a positive approach to Participation, Supporting Talented Athletes, Competition, Leadership, Inclusion and Community Links. Prior to this, we held the Silver award for the year 2016-21 and the Bronze award in 2014-15.
Later on in the Summer term, Wortham Primary school will once again apply for the School Games Mark for the 2022/23 academic year.

4- School Games (Level2) Sports Reports
Level 2 Tag Rugby Competition – Thomas Mills High School
On the 4th of October, Wortham Primary school entered two teams in the annual Tag Rugby Level 2 competition held at Thomas Mills High School.
Both teams were put into two different leagues and played every single match with passion and teamwork. Both teams played incredibly well in their leagues and were a great credit to Wortham Primary school.
Well done to both teams!
Level 2 Pentathlon Competition – Debenham Leisure Centre
On the 14th of November, Wortham Primary school entered a mixed team of Year 3, 5 and 6 pupils in this year’s St James’ Charitable Trust Level 2 competition at Debenham Leisure Centre.
The mixed year group team were amazingly supportive, competitive yet always worked as a team throughout all of the events. Although some of the events were completely new to some of our children, the more experienced team members helped and coached those less familiar and were a great credit to Wortham Primary school.
The icing on the cake for the team was winning a silver medal - Well done to our team!
