Friends of Wortham School are Parents, carers and the wider Wortham community’s charitable collaborating to raise funds in support of Wortham Primary School through events, sponsorship and other activities.
Last year we raised over £4400. FoWs funding has subsidized school trips by paying transport costs, bringing down the price to parents and carers and allowing pupils educational experiences that would not be feasible from within the school budget, including before Christmas a trip to the panto in Ipswich. FoWs contributions have funded a new Smartboard for Hedgehog class, iPads and sports equipment, new books for the library and presents for all pupils at Christmas and for leavers as they transition to high school to name but a few.
Our targets for this year include raising £2000 to fund a new nature area, refreshing and extending the school garden with a pond, trees native to the locality and quiet space.
